Movies have been made about,, Pvt. Ryan--Blackhawk down--D-Day-Band of

Actually there WAS a movie made about Anzio 1968 with Robert Mitchum and Peter Falk amongst others

Somebody still needs to make a good movie about Anzio...I love Robert Mitchum, but that movie is really BAD.

I have a DVD collection that features a section on the Battle of San Pietro.  I had never heard of the place before this, but sounds like it was a pretty tough fight for both soldiers and civilians. Is the John Ford film you are referring to an actual movie (ala Hollywood stars) or a Documentary?
