I have another request for your help. I have been trying to figure out and was wondering if the round patch on my grandfathers right sleeve, just above the cuff is the Meritorious Unit Award Patch or something else? I have managed to figure out just about all his other decorations and even had many of them reissued. I also would like to ask for some identification help for some Nazi pins and badges he left me. The photo I have of those is too large to post so I will have to post it another way. I thank you in advance for help with that. Hope all is well with everyone.
Tried looking at the photo to see your point of reference, but alas it's way too small to see in the pic. In fact I didn't even see the patch the first time.
Can you describe what it looked like?
Thanks,
M1

From what I can tell from the photo it is a square patch with what looks like a circle shape on it. I must admit that the photo itself is small and lacks the detail to be sure. It is sewn onto his right sleeve above the cuff. From what I have read this is the placement for the Meritorious Unit Award Patch for that era jacket. If only to have the uniform itself...
My father recently told me that in one of the family moves my grandfathers entire uniform...jacket, boots, medals, patches and all got thrown out without a thought. Ahh to dream....
Units who were awarded a commendation were entitled to wear a distinguished unit patch on the lower right sleeve, so you are correct. Sorry to hear that his uniform, etc was thrown away. I have no idea where my dad's is either. Sigh!

Ok...here are the pins that came along with the photos that my grandfather brought back with him. I am looking to do some identification on them and thought I would ask for some assistance. What better place to ask then right here! The only one I can say for sure is the RLB stickpin, the rest I ask your help on.
