Thanks again for posting all of this great stuff. I just wish I could make it there to visit some time. Maybe if I teach myself some European languages, I'd stand a better chance of getting stationed in Europe. There's not many7 places for Marines there, you know. :(

M1---Do you get the magazine, "THE BLUE BADGE", CIB mag.

If you do look at the poem, "Old Glory," page 11.

First of 5 verses

Drape me over your coffin

Let me rest in peace

Let the War, the torture

the hurt and pain

Forever decrease. rocky

All are nice pics. of Normandy and Omaha beaches, but I

haven't seen any of Algiers,No. Africa, Salerno, Sicily, Anzio,

Italy. I wonder how many people know about them. Roque

Monument on the bunker wn62 in 1946 and 2007.

PS : I'm sorry Rocky. I would like so much to make photographs of these places too.

But , I live too far of Italy and Sicily . :(

There was no MEDIA, news paper reporters, in N. Africa or

Italy. Just ERNIE PYLE. Reporters went to Normandy,etc.etc.

Thanks Capt. You came through for me again. I forgot about

Bill Mauldin. If you have his book see if there is a sketch of

Willie and Joe with long beards and using canes headed for

the first aid station. Sign says 34th Divn. 600 days of combat.

Would like to see it. Rocky of the 34th I.D. ---- :armata_PDT_19:
