I thought I had posted this somewhere else but the search didn't come up with anything. Here is a recreation of probably one of the most extensive "nose" art jobs to actually have been flown in WWII. This particular example comes from the Pacific:

Eventually I guess the Politically Correct Police applied enough pressure or the operators of "Tail" just got too many complaints at airshows and they re-painted it to:
