Postcard sent to my grandmother from dad at Camp Custer in Michigan

Hey! Cool.

In case ya didn't know, the 85th "Custer" Division was organized at Camp Custer, Michigan in WW1 and they adopted their name after the camp and General Custer, of course. Interesting to see your Dad's connection to Camp Custer.

And the circle just keeps expanding doesn't it. Always leads us back to another clue and another tie-in. Perfect.

I did not know that. Thanks for expanding my knowledge. :pdt34:

Marion:-

During WW II they changed the name to Fort Custer and that was a HUGE place.

Spent a while there for special training but froze my *** off and was glad to leave.

The hospital was 24 blocks from our barracks(went there with pneumonia)!!

Have a picture but can't shrink it enough to fit here. :banghead:

No peeling of potatoes on that one too. In fact I thank you for being diligent and trying to follow the rules. Many don't. You did. Bravo! But I would not expect any less from you. Okay is your ego soaring high enought yet? :pdt12::pdt12:

I would hope more would read the HELP and PLEASE READ sections. I hope I don't put it all there in vain. :pdt34: I guess I don't...

I am a GOOD DO-BIE(LOL)

I have found over the years, even after I got out, that if you do a job "by the numbers" so to speak the very first time you rarely have little or no problems nor do you have to go back and do it over again.

Also I hope you didn't mind that I answered Veronique in French because that is easier for her. I have had occasion to send her emails in the past.

Also like ROQUE I wanted to reassure her we were just joking around.

Oh my GOD I just saw the Bird next to my name. Gotta call my "Ring Knocking" Cousin and tell him he ain't the only "Bird" in this family.
