Weather data WWII
#1

On another forum, someone asked about weather data during the war. Here is what I posted for an answer:

There are several sites that offer this kind of historical weather data. Here is one example:

http://weather-warehouse.com/?gclid=CN3k2N...CFQGPWAodq32nsA

This is not a FREE service, but they seems quite reasonable.

Here's a comprehensive page from the NCDC

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/climatedata.html

This page on their site deals specifically with WWII era data

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/online...ww-ii-data.html

Also you can glean info from National Archive files. When I received all the S-1 thru S-4 reports, etc. from NARA in College Park, Maryland for my dad's unit, they have many references to weather conditions such as temperature.

Hope that helps ya!
