704th Tank Destroyer Bn Association
#11

Hello from rmiller419, I will ask my father if he knew John J Bailey. I also ran accross Al Balgoa and never was able to make contact. The 704th TD Association is no more, as probably you already know. I don't have the info at this minute but I might be able to find one other live member of the 704th TD. I should be able to get you an answer by this Friday. I might have more info also on the "Men of the 704th" book. If nothing more you might be able to have the book in the Wilimginton, OH library transfered to your Library and then you would be able to check it out to look & read it.

This is very cool stuff.

I have found more folks names and will research more.

also My grandfather apparently had a breakdown shortly after the war due to the ptsd which they did not know about back then. he was fine as I alwasy remember, so It is always intersting to find these things out.

Sometimes the book "Men of the 704th" shows up at eBay.

The men of the 704th I was in touch with were:

Richard W Bowman - Medic

Harry E Traynor - M10 & M18 driver

Walter C Righton - Gas truck driver

I only met Richard Bowman and his wife when he visited Belgium.

I sure wish I could have met Harry Traynor as he was a great guy.
