I think I appropriate today to comment on John Phillip Sousa. I think if you would have told him during his life that in 120 years his music would still be the soundtrack and every 4th of July event and Marine Corps ceremony, I think he wouldn't have believed you. But here it is in the futuristic time of 2010 and that is the case. That just goes to show you the magical appeal of the music he created - a type of music that was very popular at the time. Can you name any other late nineteenth century band composer?
