Thanks Marion,

I guess time will tell as to whether an old dog really can be taught new tricks. On a side note, got a little lost navigating through the site and was a saddened to see that someone had taken a cheap shot at you a few months back. When people do things that make you angry, your simply give them some degree of power over you through your responses- or lack of. My father was a combat engineer and one thing I remember him teaching me was that if you find yourself engaged in a fight, then you've probably engaged someone smarter than you. I believe the point he was trying to make was to avoid altercations if you possibly can unless the potential loss of not doing so is too great. I would think your dad would be extremely proud of your efforts to honor his generation's service and for your attempts at keeping the memory of their service and sacrifice, alive. Thanks again for the navigational tip. have a good day.

Hey!

Somehow I had missed your post, but caught it tonight while sitting in my hotel room room in DC tonight.

Thanks for your words. Yes, I'm sure I know of whom you are referring to... yes, sometime it's best to let things slide.

I'm no so sure of someone being smarter, however, I think we have the upper hand when we choose not to let them get to us. If you do, then you also sink to the lowest common denominator.

I try to keep this in mind...when something occurs I say to myself, would dad be proud of this? If I can't answer with an affirmative, then I let it go. That's the standard i've set for myself. It's a good guideline.
