179th Engineer Combat Battalion

Thanks for the info guys. This clwears up some of the stuff rattling around in my head. Since the headstone he has was not a gov't headstone, the family had that info abt the 90th put on there. Who knows where they got it...

Colonel, I apprecaite the suggestion about the IDPF. I had considered it, as I have on other cases I am working on, but the last time I tried to get one, they told me since I was not uimmediate family I could not have a copy. But, that doesn't mean I shouldn't try again...and I probably will!

Marion and Colonel,

At your convenience, please take a look at the bio I wrote for Cpl Clem Lee. You can access it at find-a-grave memorial #89054411. If you see any errors, please let me know. I will be transferring this memorial to a family member of Cpl Lee's once it is completed.

Very good. Just had a chance to view it. Thanks for doing this and for citing the correction on the page. I'm sure you made him a happy man in heaven. :pdt12:

My Dad brought home the official history of the 179th Engineer Combat Battalion and I have it both in paper form and electronically. It list every solider, medal and accomplishment including battles as the 179th was formed on D Day +61 to the end of the war. I am getting it ready to share and can be contacted on this site.
