Re-discovering Rocky Riojas - 34th Inf Div?
#1

Well, holy cow. You never know when your next piece of information will cross your desk, or how it arrives.

This is what Todd shared with me today. We have been looking for any news on Rocky, since he disappeared off the face of the earth (well at least to us). He was a fixture on this forum for many years, and he made lots of friends via this website. He and I also kept in contact via email and phone calls. Then one day - nothing!

Several of us, including Todd, have tried to reach him, but to no avail. I sent letters to the house and they never bounced, but evidently the family was not replying. It was very sad.

Well, Todd sent me this email today, after he discovered this article. It is from last year, but I am hopeful. Maybe I can contact the writer and get in touch with my old buddy. You never know...

Thanks Todd!!!

=============

Marion,
I just found this online:
http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article44057100.html
I'm so glad to hear something of Rocky since he seemed to disappear off the
face of the Earth so many years ago. I don't think I've emailed or anything
with him in about 5 years or so. Have you heard anything? This was the first
indication that he was still with us that I had for way too long. I don't
have time to read the whole thing at work, but just glad to know he is ok
and will be checking it out later at home.
Cheers,
Todd

Respectfully,

That is amazing after all this time to find Rocky again. I must say it looks like he is being well cared for.

No, the reporter never got back with me. What a shame...

Its been over a year since this post.  Has any one heard from Roque? I tried to Google his name and look on the 34th ID Association webpage but no new information is available.

Not a word since we found out he was in a private home (from post in 2016). No one ever got back with me, which was a real shame.
