Hi Frank,So sorry it has taken me so long to reply to you. Not enough hours in the days! It is an honor to know that your father and Sam served together. Sam always says "the 540th was the best outfit in the war!" Don't know if he will recognize anyone in the picture, but we will try. We would love to have a copy of the Beachfront news and also a recap of the reunion in 1948 and anything else that you might wish to share. If there is any cost to you, please let us know. We will gladly reimburse you. Dad always gets excited when we are able to show him information from his Army days. He is now 95 and still going strong - very active - he only has a bit of trouble with his memory - but you never know - he surprises us every day! We know that your father is no longer with us - but we thank him and every service man and women for their service to this great country so that we can live free! - Sincerely, Sam, Joe & Joan Consolo
Hello Joe,
Now I have to apologize. I was away 5 weeks with the Red Cross and a few more weeks visiting family and friends. Attached is the letter about the 1948 reunion of Company “B” of the 540th Engineers.
I have a few more things I’ll send separately because of the file sizes.
I hope your dad and you are well.
