Happy Upcoming New Year to All,

Thankful to be able to participate in this forum. Had two grandfathers in WWII: Roy Cassidy 540th and Donald Masten 28th ID. Both have since passed; however, I plan on keeping their memory alive. I have most all their records medals and items from WWII. Interested in conversing with others on WWII not to mention conversing with any WWII veterans as well. In my spare time I like to draw so I collect WWII photos on EBay that may interest me.

I'm a retired veteran myself: U.S. Marines, retired in Jan 2008.

Welcome Aboard!

Good to have another Marine on board! I thought I was going to be the only one forever. You'll enjoy the forum. We have a bunch of great people from around the states and Europe and few WWII vets as well. Hope to hear from you more. As for me, My grandfather was the CO of the 2832 and he passed away in 2004. I am still in the Marine Corps currently sentenced to MCLB Albany - a commo in a land of loggies. Hope to be moving back to Lejeune (or anywhere for that matter) this coming summer.

The major and I are always thrilled to have another 540th Combat Engineer sibling in our ranks. YEAH!

Can't wait to hear more about each of your grandfathers, and of course you.

Thank you for serving our country. Semper Fi and Essayons!

Greetings Rommel 42 and welcome to the site. When I read that you collect WWII photos on ebay I wanted to tell you about the ones I saw just listed. There is a collection of original USN photos of USMC landings and battle on Iwo Jima and Okinawa just listed. They are all listed in the Buy It Now auctions.

regards,

Dogdaddy
