Farewell Eugene Schlicher - 36th Engineer
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 05-15-2014, 09:38 AM - Forum: Announcements, Get Well Wishes & Farewells - Replies (2)

Captain John Fallon let us know that yet another seahorse has passed away. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but wanted to say my condolences.

We lost another Seahorse and it seems that that happens every time I send a letter to the group. Eugene Schlicher has gone to his permanent post. He hasn't been active for a while but we miss every one. May he rest in Peace.

My apologies to anyone who has been trying to reach me by any method, including phone, but we just got back from an eight day vacation, touring the south.

Spent time in:

Atlanta, Georgia

Charleston, South Carolina

Ashville, North Carolina and

Dayton, Ohio.

Just beautiful. Every day was sunny and warm. :pdt12: :pdt12: :pdt12:

Looking for information about children who lived near 228th hospital in Sherburne UK
Posted by: Jan - 04-26-2014, 09:02 PM - Forum: LOOKING FOR... - Replies (1)

I have photographs of two young girls, Mary and Pat Young, taken near the 228th station hospital in Sherburne, England during WWII. Would like to know if they are still living. Also, any advice on visiting site of 228th station hospital. My mother was an US Army nurse there during the war.

New Member- 208th EN from Art Bushon

Hello, VI Corps Combat Engineers Forum!

I am the great-great grandnephew of 208th ECB's Arthur (Art) Bushon. He was a KIA in Europe and had no offspring, so I'm doing what I can to keep his role in our family's history preserved. In the short hour I've been a member, I've already found a couple pictures, which is two more than the "zero" I had before- Thank you!

Both my wife and I are army officers- she's an engineer and was stationed in Germany (Mannheim, then Schweinfurt) for awhile, and I'm an FA guy, so our interest goes even farther beyond genealogical. As most of you probably already know, there is a very strong sense of tradition and historical respect in the Europe-based units, and it's humbling to discover my ancestors' role in building that history.

I look forward to meeting you all- thanks for all you do!

Kind regards,

Doug Halleaux
