Special, special hugs sent to my dear friend, Captain John Fallon of the 36th Engineer Regiment! Love you lots John. Sure glad we have had many opportunities to meet!
I am involved with the D-Day in Normandy. On June 6, 1944 I was living at 8 miles from Omaha Beach. I came to USA in 1979. (US citizen) , Since 1984 I host a dinner for the veterans of WWII. I live in Roanoke ,VA because I was on the board of the National D-day Foundation in Bedford. This year we will have a huge celebration for the 70th. Many of the 238th Combat Engineers are present at my dinner for years.
But also I am involved in Fredericksburg, which is a sister city with Fréjus, which was one the cities liberated after the landing on August 15, 1944. We are looking for veterans in order to invite them to a very special evening in Fredericksburg on June 20.
Do you know any veterans of your outfit who are living the area of Fredericksburg and who will be interested to come. We are expecting visitors from Frejus.
Please don't hesitate to call me or email me if you have any questions.
Hey guys and gals! Let me know what you think about our new VI Corps Logo.
Was inspired when I was contacted by Judy Vladimir and asked to become a co-sponsor. Here's part of the letter, which was posted elsewhere on our site.
I am writing to you as we hope that you will be a Promotional Co-Sponsor of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County’s upcoming conference, From Generation to Generation: The Legacy Continues ~ An Event Honoring Holocaust Survivors, Liberators, Righteous Among the Nations and Their Descendants on June 8 at Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY...
Anyway, they needed a high-res logo and lo and behold, I realized that I actually didn't have one that I could share for this purpose (uh duh, Marion) and so sat down this morning and came up with this design, which I sent to Judy just a few minutes ago.
Hubby really liked it to, which means a lot to me, for I usually run my projects by him, for his very discerning eye!

I am looking for anyone from the 36th Engineers who was in Fedela immediately after the invasion.....or anyone with information. I know that Company C was HQ in Fedea.
I need accounts, documents and photos of work done in the port of Fedela between 17 and 21 November 1942. I would pay for copying.
I am writing a book focusing upon a freighter who called at Fedela at the time. She carried ammunition, gasoline in cans, 90MM AA guns and vehicles.
I need background about operations and life in the pot in November 1942.
