  Secret Weapon of the Confederacy

The National Geographic Channel has been running and excellent documentary on the Hunley and why they believe that it sank. They explore several options about both the sinking and the mystery of why this crew was found at their stations, as opposed to the crews of the two prior sinkings where the bodies were found around the exit.

Check your local listings or keep an eye out for it when it makes it to Hulu or Netflix.

thoughts and prayers

For Tony Stefanelli, 36th Engineer. Had a blot clot this past week and is getting out of the hospital tomorrow. Doc said he is cleared to come to reunion with Carl Furtado. Man, that was scary. Love ya Tony. See ya there. Whew.

Wow look at this one. It's a panoramic shot sent to me by the family of Manuel Velez, 36th Engineer. I scanned it in two sections. Fabulous. I also have various pics, but started with this one today. Ah, just in time for the reunion later this week. Wonderful! Many thanks!
