My dad, James H Cockerham Sr., left this earth March 31st 2014. He was age 92 and served in the Army 172nd Combat Engineers in the Eropean Theatre, arriving in the fall of 1944 until December of 1945. He was a Humble, Dedicated and Christian Family Man. We are missing him already. Would love to meet or chat with Veterans that are still alive and or their siblings.

Thanks to all Veterans
Bill Cockerham

My Dad is Edwin Blasingim, First Sargent for Company B. He is 97 and still remembers, sadly, many of the events that took place with the 160th.

Admin reply: Thank your dad for me.

My dad, Eldon (Al) Kruger was with the 1252 engineering Battalion but would not speak about anything that he was involve. I just found some of his papers that gave a break down of some of their endeavors. Lt Walker I believe was his CO. Is there a list of all the members?
Steve

Admin reply: No sorry, I don't have access to that at this point in time. Keep checking the forum and the main site (search box) for any updates on this unit.

I am researching my fathers WWII history. I know he was with an engineering corps. My understanding is his records were destroyed in the 1973 fire. Both my Mom and Dad have passed and I have not been able to locate any service records of my father. His name was William Earl Keath and went by "Bill". Please note the spelling of Keath. Any help in locating rosters would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gordon Keath

Admin reply: Is this him?

My father served in the 720th Railway Operating Batallion in WWII from about Dec of 42 until unit returned in Jan 1945. He, like so many WWII vets, did not talk of his service. When he passed away, we found some pictures (and some of death camps), his discharge papers and not a whole lot more. If anybody knows more of this unit, I'd appreciate hearing about it!

I am Thomas Rapsinski the eldest son of George Rapsinski who served in the Army from June 11, 1942 to December 21, 1945. His discharge paper stated that he was discharged from Company I - 7th Infantry Regiment – 3rd Infantry Division. As many WWII Veterans he did not talk about his war experience. I have tried to obtain his service records but they were destroyed by a fire in storage. He was in 6 Battles which included Algeria - French Morocco, Tunisia, Naples- Foggia, Rome – Arno and the Rhineland. I would appreciate any information on my father and his war service.

He also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. If their is anyone else with other information about his group please contact me either through this or via cell phone at 860-307-9665.
