My Great Uncle was Jerome,J. Massoth who served with the 344th Regiment E Company. He passed away several years ago but I started going through his DD214 to build a shadowbox for my Mother who looked after him in his last years. My mother also opened his peraonal box of belongi,gs and found his orignal maps tracking his units movementsduring the war. He also has a book of the command he was attached to at FT Shelby, 86th I do believe. His Indiana National Guard Engineer Company 113th was assigned to the 86th. Its like a school yearbook of sorts. There is also a,really old book of the 344th and there entire involvement in World War 2. Alao turns out we have his original Ribbons and an Original and very rare 344th Regiment Insignia Pin which is now going in the shadow box.

.His unit did 5 D Day landings: Fedhala, N Africa, LaCata, Sicily, Salerno, Italy, Anzio, Italy, & La Crossee, Southern France. His primary job was Courier & Mechanic. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
